5 day training program schedule for VWSC Members
The 5-day training program for Village Water and Sanitation Committee (VWSC) members covers key areas of village development, water security, water governance, water quality testing, and source sustainability.
- Day 1 focuses on Village Development, introducing participatory planning, leadership roles, resource management, and action plan creation. Participants engage in group exercises to identify village needs and develop plans for sustainable growth.
- Day 2 addresses Water Security, explaining the importance of safe water management, different drinking water devices, and the roles of VWSC in Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM). Through presentations and role-play, participants explore solutions to water-related challenges.
- Day 3 emphasizes Water Governance, including record-keeping, fundraising through water charges, and interactions with government bodies for resource mobilization.
- Day 4 is dedicated to Water Quality Testing and Gray Water Management, teaching participants to test water for pH, turbidity, and contaminants like fluoride, while also managing wastewater through drainage systems, soak pits, and kitchen gardens.
- Day 5 concludes with Source Sustainability, focusing on spring management and resource mobilization to ensure sustainable water supply. This day includes hydrogeological mapping, designing recharge systems, and fostering government collaboration for long-term success.
