VJNNS-APF-Hydrogeolpgical survey at Bheemunichettupalem village on 25-5-2025 Hydrogeological Survey Conducted at Bheemunichattu Village, Kitumula Panchayat As part of our ongoing efforts to ensure water security in tribal areas, I visited Bheemunichattu village under Kitumula Panchayat to conduct a hydrogeological survey. The main objective of this visit was to assess the village’s existing water resources and understand the geological aspects that affect groundwater recharge. Drinking Water Resources in the Village: During the survey, I identified and evaluated the following water sources currently available in the village: Velugu Gravity Tank – The system is functional but requires urgent repair to maintain reliable supply. Solar Syntex Tank – Currently non-functional and needs technical intervention to restore service. JJM Electric Borewell with Syntex Tank – Operational and serving the community. Nearby Stream – Located close to the village, the stream is mainly used for irrigation purposes. Observations from the Field: Assessed crop patterns, land use, and land cover in the recharge zone. Studied rock dip and strike directions, which are key indicators for planning recharge structures. Community Engagement: Interacted with Village Water Committee (VWC) members and other residents to discuss the importance of protecting water sources. Emphasized the use of MGNREGS (NREGA) for constructing recharge structures and protecting the catchment area. This visit has provided valuable insights to strengthen the water security plan for Bheemunichattu. With proper repair, revival, and community participation, the village can improve access to safe and sustainable drinking water.
