Today, at the Narsipatnam office,VWSC Members Trained under Gravity Scheme for Drinking Water Repairs
Access to safe drinking water is a basic right, yet several tribal and rural villages in Chintapalli Mandal continue to face daily challenges due to damaged or inadequate water supply systems. In an effort to strengthen community involvement and ensure sustainable solutions, a one-day training program was held at the Narsipatnam office focusing on free construction techniques for drinking water repairs under the Gravity Scheme.
A total of 11 Village Water and Sanitation Committee (VWSC) members, with two representatives from each of six villages, participated in this initiative. The training not only provided hands-on guidance on how to handle repair work but also encouraged open discussion on the current state of drinking water problems in their respective villages.
The session highlighted the importance of community participation, particularly through shramdaan (voluntary labor), to ensure the success and longevity of water infrastructure. VWSC members were motivated to take ownership of their local water systems and act as catalysts for change within their communities.
Notable participants in the program included Engineer Garu, Mr. Sanyasi Rao Garu, Mr. M.V.Naidu garu, and Mr. Bujjibabu, who guided the attendees and shared practical knowledge and experience.
This initiative marks an important step towards empowering rural communities to manage and sustain their own water resources effectively.
