On 7th May 2025, the first day of training for Village Water and Sanitation Committee (VWSC) members was successfully conducted at Lothugadda Junction. This training is part of an ongoing effort to build the capacity of VWSC members and empower them to take active leadership in managing water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) services at the village level.
A total of 18 VWSC members participated in the session, representing various villages and community interests. The training aimed to improve their understanding of government entitlements, roles and responsibilities, and the importance of community participation in achieving sustainable development goals related to water and sanitation.
The session focused on key topics such as:
Understanding the entitlements and schemes available for village water and sanitation.
The roles and duties of VWSC members in ensuring clean and safe drinking water in their villages.
How to promote sustainable development practices within the community, with a focus on long-term benefits rather than short-term solutions.
Strengthening community participation, especially encouraging women’s involvement in water and sanitation decision-making.
The training was initiated and facilitated by respected community leaders and trainers:
Sri K. Ravikumar garu
Sri A. Chittibabu garu
Sri V.V.S.S. Kumar garu
